Creed Taylor was a seminal figure in American music, producing hundreds of pivotal jazz recordings over his decades long career. He worked behind the scenes, guiding the look and sound of classic records like Getz/Gilberto’s The Girl From Ipanema, John Coltrane’s Africa Brass, and CTI albums beloved by music listeners around the world.

The documentary features stories from A&M’s founders Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, the CTI All Stars, Ron Carter, Hubert Laws, Harvey Mason, Lenny White with arranger Don Sebesky. Jazz educators Ashley Kahn, John Snyder and Michael Fremer join Creed’s family, painting an intimate portrait of a reclusive figure. Creed Taylor takes center stage, sharing memories of Rudy Van Gelder, Stan Getz, and the classic records he produced.
